Add a contact form to your website
Put a small form on your own website. Every message becomes a ticket from the visitor's email address.
Available on Starter, Growth, Pro, Enterprise. Compare plans
The contact form is a small form you embed on your own website. Each message becomes a ticket from the visitor’s email address, and your team answers it by email like any other ticket.
The form belongs to a brand. It works with the web messenger turned off too.
Prefer a full page instead? Your help centre also has a request form.
Turn it on
- Open Admin Center, Channels, Messenger and edit the brand’s settings.
- In Contact form for your website, switch on Offer the contact form.
- Optional: change the Heading, the Message after sending, and whether to Ask for a subject. Leave the texts empty to use the default ones.
- Save. The section now shows the embed code.
Embed it
Copy one of the two snippets from the settings page:
- Script tag: place it where the form should appear. Your site’s styles can’t break the form.
- Iframe: for site builders that don’t allow scripts.
If you create a new widget key for the brand, the contact form’s key changes too. Update the snippet on your website.
What a message creates
| Value | |
|---|---|
| Requester | The visitor’s email address. A new customer gets the name they typed |
| Subject | The subject field, or the first line of the message |
| Channel | Web form. Search via:web_form to find these tickets |
| Tag | web_form |
| Brand | The brand of the form |
The first comment is the message as plain text, with the page it was sent from. Use the web_form tag in a trigger to route these tickets or send an automatic reply.
Spam protection
- The form only works on the brand’s allowed domains (in the messenger settings). An empty list allows any website.
- Each visitor can send up to 5 messages in 10 minutes.
- A hidden field catches bots. They see a normal answer, but nothing is created.
