Connect LINE and WeChat
Turn chats with your LINE Official Account or WeChat Official Account into tickets, and reply from ChaosDesk.
Available on Starter, Growth, Pro, Enterprise. Compare plans
Connect your LINE Official Account or WeChat Official Account, and customer messages become tickets like any other messaging channel. Agents reply from the ticket, and the answer goes back to the chat.
You use your own LINE or WeChat account. Any messaging fees are part of your own contract with LINE or WeChat.
LINE
- In the LINE Developers console, open your Messaging API channel.
- Copy the long-lived channel access token (Messaging API tab) and the channel secret (Basic settings tab).
- In ChaosDesk, open Admin Center, Channels, Messaging, pick LINE and choose Add account.
- Paste the token and the secret. ChaosDesk checks them and sets the webhook address for you.
- Back in the LINE Developers console, switch Use webhook on, and switch LINE’s own auto-reply messages off.
The channel check in Messaging warns you while Use webhook is still off.
What works:
- Incoming: text, images, video, audio, files, stickers and locations, from one-to-one chats, groups and rooms.
- Outgoing: text, an image, other files as a link, and quick-reply buttons.
LINE counts the messages you send against your LINE plan.
- In ChaosDesk, open Admin Center, Channels, Messaging and choose Add channel.
- Pick WeChat Official Account as the provider.
- Enter the account’s original ID (it starts with
gh_) as the account ID, the AppID and AppSecret, and a token you make up. - Save, and copy the channel’s webhook URL.
- In the WeChat Official Account platform, open the server configuration (under Settings and Development, Basic configuration). Paste the webhook URL and the same token, and choose plaintext message encryption.
- Add the ChaosDesk outgoing IP addresses to the IP allowlist of your WeChat account. Ask support for the current list.
What works:
- Incoming: text, images, voice messages (with WeChat’s speech-to-text as a caption), video, locations and links.
- Outgoing: text, and other files as a link.
WeChat only allows replies for 48 hours after the customer’s last message. After that, the agent sees that the customer has to write first.
Not supported yet: WeChat’s encrypted (“safe mode”) message format, and template messages outside the 48-hour window.
X (Twitter) direct messages
X charges for API access to direct messages, so ChaosDesk does not offer X by default. If you need it, contact support: you will need your own X developer app on a paid X API plan. Public mentions and replies are not supported.
