Create a webhook
Send signed HTTP callbacks to another system when tickets change.
Available on Starter, Growth, Pro, Enterprise. Compare plans
A webhook tells another system that something happened in ChaosDesk, for example a new ticket or a status change.
Create it
- Open Admin Center, Integrations, Webhooks and choose New webhook.
- Enter a Name and the Endpoint URL. It must accept a JSON body and answer within 10 seconds.
- Pick the Method (POST, PUT or PATCH).
- Under Subscriptions, choose the events:
- Ticket created, Ticket updated (any change);
- Status changed, Priority changed, Assignee changed, Group changed, Tags changed, Comment added;
- Triggers and automations: lets rules call this webhook with the Notify webhook action.
- Optional: a Custom JSON body with placeholders, for receivers that expect another format. Leave it empty to send the standard ChaosDesk payload.
- Choose Create webhook.
Event payloads carry ids and changed values only, never subjects or comment text. Use a custom body or the API if you need more.
Test it
Under Send a test, choose Send test. It sends once, without retries, and shows the HTTP status. Inactive webhooks receive nothing, but can still be tested.
Delivery log and retries
The Delivery log shows every request with its status: Pending, Delivered, Retrying or Failed, the response and the attempts. Failed deliveries are retried after 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 2 hours, 6 hours and 12 hours. Choose Replay to send one again. Emails and phone numbers are removed from the excerpts.
