API limits by plan

The API is available from the Starter plan. Two limits apply, both per minute.

The workspace limit

All API requests of your workspace count together, both the REST API and the Zendesk-compatible API:

The token limit

On top of that, one API token can make at most 700 requests per minute.

When you reach a limit

The API answers 429 Too Many Requests with a Retry-After header. Wait that many seconds, then try again. Response headers show what is left of each limit in the current minute. Details are in Rate limits and pagination.

Stay under the limits

• Use cursor pagination for large exports instead of many small pages.
• Use webhooks to hear about changes instead of polling.
• Give each integration its own token, so one busy script does not block the others.
