The ChaosDesk apps for Zapier and Make connect your help desk to thousands of other tools without code. For example: post new urgent tickets to a chat channel, or create a ticket when a form is filled in.

The apps are built and tested, and are waiting to be listed in the Zapier and Make app directories. Until they are listed, you can’t find them there yet. This article describes how they work.

What you can do

ZapierMake
New ticketTrigger, instantTrigger, instant
Ticket status changedTrigger, instant, with an optional status filterTrigger, instant, with the previous and new status
New userTrigger, checked every few minutesTrigger, checked every few minutes
Create ticketAction. The customer is found or added by emailAction
Add commentAction: a public reply or an internal noteAction
Update ticketAction: status, priority, type, group, assignee, tags and an optional commentAction

Tickets are identified by their ticket number. Tickets created or changed this way go through your normal triggers and SLAs, and the audit shows the token owner as the person who made the change.

What you need

  • A plan with API access and webhooks (Starter and up).
  • An API token with the read and write scopes.
  • For the instant triggers: the token must belong to an admin and also have the admin scope, because they create webhooks.

Connect your workspace

  1. In Zapier or Make, add a ChaosDesk connection.
  2. Enter your workspace URL, such as https://yourcompany.chaosdesk.io, and the API token.
  3. Zapier or Make checks the connection.

When you turn on a Zap or scenario with an instant trigger, it creates a webhook in your workspace. Turning it off deletes the webhook again.

Until the apps are listed

You can get the same results today with:

  • webhooks to a Zapier “Catch Hook” or a Make custom webhook, for events in ChaosDesk;
  • the REST API from Zapier or Make HTTP steps, to create and update tickets.

Zapier and Make are trademarks of their owners.
