Cancel your plan or close your workspace
What happens when you cancel or pause a paid plan, and when an unused workspace is archived.
This feature is still being built. Some steps or screens may change.
Cancelling a paid plan does not delete your workspace. It moves to the Free plan at the end of the period you paid for, and all your data stays.
Cancel a paid plan
When you cancel a paid plan:
- You pick a reason from the list (for example too expensive, missing features, switching to another tool, or only needed for a while) and can add your own words.
- Before you confirm, ChaosDesk offers two alternatives:
- 30 % off the next 3 months (on Starter, Growth and Pro, once per subscription), or
- a pause of 1 to 3 months: billing stops after the current period, the workspace runs on the Free plan, and nothing is deleted.
- If you go ahead, the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you get a confirmation email.
Until then, Admin Center, Integrations, Plan and billing shows Ends with the date instead of Renews. Changed your mind? A cancellation can be undone until that date, and a pause can be ended early.
After the plan ends
- The workspace moves to the Free plan: 1 agent, 100 new tickets a month and the Free features.
- Paid features lock but keep their settings; records over the Free limits keep working, you just cannot add more. See plan limits.
- Upgrading again unlocks everything at once.
Unused workspaces
ChaosDesk archives workspaces nobody uses:
- a Free workspace nobody on the team has signed in to or used for 12 months;
- a trial workspace unused for 90 days.
Admins get a warning email first and a final warning 14 days later. If the workspace is still unused 30 days after the first warning, it is archived: suspended, with the data kept. Any sign-in or API use in between resets the clock. Paid workspaces are never archived.
