Use your own domain
Serve a brand's help centre at an address such as help.example.com, with HTTPS.
Your workspace address, such as example.chaosdesk.io, always works. You can add your own domain on top, for example help.example.com.
Add the domain
- Open Admin Center, Channels, Domains and choose Add domain.
- Enter a subdomain you control, such as
help.example.com. - Under What the domain serves, choose Help centre and pick the Brand.
- Choose Add domain.
Create the DNS record
At your DNS provider, create the CNAME record shown: your domain pointing to the ChaosDesk target. On Cloudflare, set it to “DNS only” (grey cloud). If the record must stay proxied, also add the TXT record shown to prove the domain is yours.
ChaosDesk checks every few minutes. The status goes from Waiting for DNS to Issuing certificate to Live. Choose Check now to check straight away. The HTTPS certificate is issued and renewed automatically.
Good to know
- One help centre domain per brand. A new domain replaces the current one once it is live.
- On Enterprise, a domain can also serve the agent workspace.
- Removing a domain sends visitors back to your workspace address.
- Old Zendesk help centre links keep working after an import: imported articles answer on their old paths.
