Manage notifications
Choose which push notifications you get, see mentions in the bell, and know where email notifications come from.
This feature is still being built. Some steps or screens may change.
ChaosDesk tells you about work in three ways: the Notifications bell in the workspace, push notifications on your devices, and email.
The Notifications bell
The bell in the top bar collects the times someone @mentions you in an internal note. A number shows how many are unread. Open it to jump to the ticket, or choose Mark all read. See mention a teammate.
Push notifications
Push notifications reach you even when the ChaosDesk tab is closed, in your browser or on your phone.
- Open your account menu and choose Preferences.
- Under Push notifications, turn on On this browser and allow notifications when the browser asks.
- Under Notify me about (on every device), switch off what you do not need:
- Someone @mentions me
- A ticket is assigned to me
- A customer replies on my ticket
- An SLA target on my ticket is about to be breached
- A new messaging conversation is waiting (sent to the members of its group)
- Choose Send a test to check it works.
All events are on until you switch them off. You never get a push for your own change, and one update sends you at most one push, for the most specific reason.
If the browser blocked notifications, allow them for your workspace in the browser settings. On iPhone and iPad, add ChaosDesk to the Home Screen first. See use ChaosDesk on your phone.
Devices
Devices that receive notifications lists every browser and device you turned on. Remove one with Remove device. Signing out turns push off for that browser.
Email notifications
Emails to agents, such as Ticket assigned, New comment for assignee, Unassigned ticket in group and Follower update, are sent by your workspace’s default triggers. Only an admin can change them, in Admin Center, Business rules, Triggers. The Agent mentioned email is always sent when someone mentions you.
